Karachi Kings suffered another defeat in the PSL 2022 after they were restricted to 143/8 in 20 overs against Quetta Gladiators while chasing 167 to lose the match by 23 runs.
Openers Babar Azam and Joe Clarke provided the Kings with a steady start as they put up a partnership of 87 runs for the first wicket but Babar's departure for a 34-ball 36 broke the shackles. Clarke on the other side went on to score a fifty.
But the Karachi side lost wickets at regular intervals to be left struggling at 128/5 before eventually losing the match.
Khurram Shahzad returned with a four-wicket haul for 22 runs in 4 overs while Naseem Shah had a couple of wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs.
Earlier, in the day, the Gladiators side lost an early wicket in the form of Will Smeed but Roy and Vince steadied the ship for the team and put up a partnership of 90 runs for the second wicket before Vince went back in the hut for 29 off 24.
The Quetta team then lost Umar Akmal in a quick interval before Roy and Iftikhar Ahmed joined hands to perform the rebuilding task.
They both scored 45 runs for the fourth wicket before Roy was eventually dismissed for 82 off 64. The Gladiators put up a total of 166/4 in 20 overs.
