Prabhsimran Singh is one of the most talented cricketers in Indian cricketing circles at the moment and has played some breathtaking knocks for Punjab in domestic cricket for few years now. However, a big IPL performance was missing from his CV and finally now he has arrived in the IPL with a tremendous century against DC on a difficult batting pitch. He scored 103 off just 65 balls and fought a lone battle to take his team to a challenging total.

Prabhsimran Singh is the sixth youngest cricketer to score a century in the IPL, and it was indeed a very mature knock from the 22-year old. Punjab were in all sorts of trouble with 45-3 in the 6th over on a difficult pitch, and no other batter could get going apart from Prabhsimran Singh.

The second highest scorer of the innings was just 20, which shows the kind of impact Prabhsimran Singh made on Punjab’s innings. He scored 103 runs of the total 167 scored by Punjab and managed just 27 runs in his first 30 balls. He accelerated brilliantly though, and smashed 67 runs off the next 35 balls. Punjab now need to bowl well to defend this target and keep their hopes of playoffs alive.
