  • Play Haris Rauf In T20i Matches Only Ramiz Raja To Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim

'Play Haris Rauf in T20I matches only' - Ramiz Raja to Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim

The Pakistan Cricket Board President Ramiz Raja has been proactive in sharing his thoughts on the form of the team and is often seen as more than interested in working on improving the country's sports infrastructure.

If the reports are to be believed, Raja has opined on the fast bowler Haris Rauf's performance in the 1st ODI against West Indies on 8 June (Wednesday) at Multan.

In his full quota of 10 overs, Rauf picked up four wickets but ended up conceding 77 runs.

Raja has interacted with Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim and instructed him to pick Rauf only in T20Is until the fast bowler has improved his accuracy in terms of line and lengths.

"Tell Haris to learn how to bowl at an accurate line and length. Select him for ODIs when he has improved this area of his bowling," Raja was quoted as saying by sources.

"Play Haris in T20I matches only till he has improved his line and length," he added.

The PCB Chief also felt that their production quality in the series' ongoing matches needs to be better than the one in the Indian Premier League.

"Our production of matches is not at all good as compared to the Indian T20 league," Raja told some members of the production crew.

"Please make sure that the production of remaining matches is better," he further added.

At the end, the former Pakistan batter gave a hint on the career of former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed being nearly over, with youngster Muhammad Haris making his ODI debut in the 1st match against West Indies.

"We have a new wicketkeeper-batter in the shape of Muhammad Haris. It seems that the career of Sarfaraz Ahmed is almost over," Raja told Chief Selector Wasim.

ZIM vs AFG | 1st T20I | Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

Zimbabwe and Afghanistan are all set to lock horns against each other in a three-match T20I series, starting from Saturday at Harare. The two sides squared off in a three-match ODI series, where Afghanistan outplayed the hosts, emerging victorious by a scoreline of 3-0. The last ODI was a much closely fought contest, with the visitors coming home with a narrow four-wicket victory. The Asian side should certainly have the edge, moving forward to the shorter format. Afghanistan has named a star-studded side for the series, which will be led by all-rounder Mohammad Nabi. Mujeeb ur Rahman has been released from the squad, following his commitments for the English T20 Blast. Rashid Khan will spearhead the spin bowling department and should be expected to dominate the proceedings against Zimbabwe, who struggle against slower bowlers. On the other hand, Zimbabwe is certainly under the pump and will look to make a statement in the T20I series. The hosts will be led by Craig Ervine, who put on disappointing performances in the ODI series. The skipper could manage to score just 62 runs, at an average of 20.67. One of the positives for Zimbabwe was the performance of Sikandar Raza, who managed to score 145 runs in three matches at an average of 48.33. Afghanistan’s last T20I assignment came against Bangladesh, where the series ended on level terms. As for Zimbabwe, they recently clashed against their African counterparts, Namibia in a five-match T20I series. Zimbabwe ended on the losing side once again, with Namibia claiming a 3-2 series win. The pressure is evidently growing on Ervine to start delivering positive results for his side. Wesley Madhevere was the top run-getter in the five-match T20I series against Namibia, accumulating 163 runs in five innings at an average of 40.75. Raza impressed with the ball, having six scalps to his name in five matches at an average of 14.83. In terms of the head-to-head clashes, Afghanistan has predominantly had the better of its opponents. From their 12 meetings in the shortest format of the game, the Asian side has emerged victorious on 11 occasions. SL vs AUS 2022 | 3rd T20I | Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

With an aim to continue their undefeated run in the ongoing T20I series, mighty Australia will take on Sri Lanka in the 3rd and final T20I of the series on Saturday (June 11) at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Australia has already sealed the three-match series with a win on Wednesday (June 8), which provided the Aaron Finch-led side with an unassailable lead of 2-0. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will look to register a win in the third match to salvage some pride. The first match of the series was one-sided as Australia outplayed the hosts in both departments, handing them a ten wickets defeat. In the second match, the Sri Lankan bowlers did show some resistance as they managed to take the game deep, bagging seven wickets. However, it wasn't enough to put brakes on the Australian juggernaut as they chased down the target of 125 runs in 17.5 overs. Given Australia's dominance in this format and Sri Lanka's desire to win the final match of the series to avoid a clean sweep, a cracking contest beckons at Pallekele.
