In a significant development, there are reports that the PCB has written a letter to BCCI where they have offered a new proposal to India regarding their participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.

According to reports from Cricbuzz, the PCB has suggested to the BCCI that India can return to Delhi or Chandigarh after each match they play in Pakistan to avoid staying in Pakistan due to security concerns.

According to the report, discussions regarding India's participation in the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan took place between Ishaq Dar and S Jaishankar during the latter's recent visit to Pakistan. It is worth noting that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi too joined the meeting. Recently, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla remarked that the decision regarding India's participation will be made by the government.

So far, the rumours mills have indicated that BCCI is not willing to send India to Pakistan because of security concerns and are looking for a hybrid model or the tournament to be moved out of Pakistan. On the other hand, Mohsin Naqvi, on several occasions, has confirmed that the tournament will take place in Pakistan and quashed the rumours of shifting the tournament out of the country.

ECB Comments On India's Situation For Champions Trophy 2025

Recently ECB commented on India's situation for Champions Trophy 2025 and talked about the importance of India in an ICC event.

"There are lots of different alternatives and contingencies available if that doesn't happen. I wouldn't have thought (it would be played without India), because if you play the Champions Trophy without India the broadcast rights aren't there, and we need to protect them," Reuters quoted ECB Chair Richard Thomson as saying.

The Champions Trophy is slated to take place from February 19 to March 9, with matches allotted to Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. The PCB has planned all of India's matches in Lahore. It is worth noting that the decision to host India matches in Lahore was because of the proximity to the border.
