The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a strategic step towards enhancing its coaching setup by deciding to appoint separate coaches for each of the three main formats of the game: Tests, One Dayers, and T20Is.

Sources close to the development revealed that negotiations with potential foreign coaches are in the final stages, with notable cricketing figures Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie being prime contenders for the roles.

Former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten and ex-Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie are reportedly on the verge of finalizing deals with the PCB. It's anticipated that Kirsten will take charge as the white-ball coach, while Gillespie will oversee red-ball cricket coaching duties.

Talks are ongoing to iron out the details, including Gillespie's potential involvement during Kirsten's busy schedule, ensuring a comprehensive coaching setup for all formats.

In addition to foreign coaches, discussions are underway concerning the appointment of support staff and liaising with other national coaches to optimize the coaching structure.

The PCB's proactive approach highlights its commitment to bolstering Pakistan's cricketing prowess across all formats.

The timing of these developments coincides with the commencement of Pakistan's training camp at the Kakul army base, gearing up for the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled for June. The camp will serve as a crucial preparatory phase ahead of Pakistan's home series against New Zealand in April.

This move by the PCB underscores a concerted effort to fine-tune Pakistan's cricketing strategies, aiming for comprehensive coaching expertise tailored to the demands of each format.
