The much-anticipated India-Pakistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Ahmedabad ended up being a one-sided affair much to the disappointment of cricket fans, where Rohit Sharma and Co. routed Babar Azam XI by seven wickets.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made all arrangements for the incoming fans to be treated to a spectacle, with musical performances to keep the spirits high. However, the crowd did not behave its absolute best and created quite a poor image for BCCI to deal with.

From the capacity crowd booing Pakistan skipper Babaz Azam during the toss to wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan being subjected to religious and toxic remarks from fans, the treatment of the audience present has not gone down well with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

As reported by The Telegraph, PCB is displaced about the proceedings during the match, and could likely lodge a complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC). A meeting chaired by PCB President Zaka Ashraf will be conducted soon after the head reaches Lahore from his trip to India.

Several reports suggested that paper planes were hurled towards all-rounder Hasan Ali, who was fielding near the boundary line.

Pakistan were greeted with a rousing welcome in Hyderabad upon their arrival in India for the 10-nation tournament.

They were cheered and celebrated by fans present in the stadium during their matches against Netherlands, and Sri Lanka, respectively.
