The drama around Champions Trophy is refusing to die down. The suspense around the hosting rights of the prestigious tournament is still there, with BCCI and PCB yet to sit down for a talk. The Indian Cricket board is pushing for a hybrid model, while the PCB wants either entire tournament in Pakistan or a hybrid model for future events in India.

The recent reports have hinted that things are bowed towards BCCI as ICC is likely to announce the tournament in hybrid model soon. Meanwhile, on Monday, December 9, Star Sports, the official broadcaster for Champions Trophy, dropped a promo for the prestigious event.

The fans noted that the promo did not feature a hosts name and it has sparked a debate on social media.

Notably, the ICC was set to hold a meeting with the broadcasters amid the ongoing saga, but it has just been getting postponed. The ICC was set to discuss about the potential model for Champions Trophy. The Star Sports promo has dropped a massive hint and the fans are assuming that they have not mentioned Pakistan as the hosts as the ICC is set to adopt the hybrid model.

Pakistan PM Extends Support To PCB Chairman

In the latest events, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and backed his stance on the prestigious fifty-over tournament. He extended his support to Naqvi and added that he is proud of their stand to not bow down to BCCI's demands.

"Your stance on the Champions Trophy is the voice of every Pakistani. Pakistan’s honor comes first, and everything else follows," said PM Shehbaz in the meeting with Naqvi.

The schedule is also not out and the stake-holders are in a state of panic because of the delay in the proceedings.
