Pakistan will tour New Zealand for a five-match T20I series, with the first match kickstarting on March 16 at the Hagley Oval. Pakistan cricket is at an all-time low as they suffered an early exit from another ICC event.

The Men in Green failed to perform at their home conditions and failed to win a solitary match in the Champions Trophy 2025. Now they shift their focus to the T20I series and have made several changes.

Mohammad Yousuf Decides To Stay With Ill Daughter

The PCB dropped the likes of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who were under criticism for their slow over-rate. Salman Ali Agha will lead the side and the apex cricket board in Pakistan will hope for things to turn around.

In the latest events, Pakistan have dealt a blow as their batting consultant Mohammad Yousuf has withdrawn from the tour to be with his ailing daughter. According to a report from Samaa TV, Yousuf's daughter is ill, and the former batter has decided to be with her and informed PCB about his decision.

Further, the PCB has decided to not name a replacement for Yousuf and go ahead with the tournament without him.

Yousuf Resigns As National Selector In 2024

Before taking up the role of Pakistan's batting consultant, Yousuf was one of the seven national selectors for the PCB. However, he met with criticism and resigned from the role citing personal reasons.

“I announce my resignation as a selector for the Pakistan cricket team due to personal reasons. Serving this incredible team has been a profound privilege, and I am proud to have contributed to the growth and success of Pakistan Cricket,” he wrote on ‘X’.

The Samaa TV report also mentioned that the team would miss Yousuf's services on the tour.
