Under the leadership of Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies team are set to tour Pakistan in June for a short ODI series. The series, composed of three matches, will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and the series is slated to kick off from June 8 onwards.
Interestingly, the matches are set to have an unusual start timing due to rising climatical temperatures in Pakistan. As per sources close to the PCB, the games might commence as late as around 5 in the evening.
PAK vs WI 2022: Rising temperatures to trigger an evening start to ODIs?
As per weather forecasts, the temperatures in Rawalpindi around the first week of June might rise up to 40°C and above. Therefore, as a precautionary measure by the PCB to safeguard players from a possible heatwave, the board is considering starting all matches of the series in the evening.
The Day and Night ODI matches usually have a start time of 2 pm in Pakistan. However, if the board goes ahead with its proposed 5 pm start timing, the matches might run till 1 am (local time) on the following day.

Apart from releasing the schedule, the PCB also announced that the series will be played without any COVID-19 protocols. Originally meant to be played in December 2021 before getting postponed for rising COVID-19 cases in the West Indies camp, the series forms a part of the ongoing inaugural 2020-23 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.
