PAK vs AUS | 1st Test | Day 1: Pakistan off to flying start in historic Test

Pakistan started off the proceedings pretty well in the first Test of the series against Australia in Rawalpindi after openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq stitched a stand of 105 runs for the first wicket. The two batters showed a lot of resistance on a track that had something on offer for the spinners.

While Imam went on to score a fifty and remained unbeaten before the end of the first session, Shafique just missed out on one after he was caught by Cummins off Lyon for 44.

Azhar Ali walked in at number three and was 0* off 6 when the lunch was taken. It is the first time in 24 years when an Australian side is touring Pakistan. While the first match is being played in Rawalpindi, the action will shift to Karachi for the second encounter and the third and final Test will be held in Lahore.
