On Friday, July 26, India women scripted history as they beat Bangladesh women in the semi-finals of the ongoing Women's Asia Cup 2024 and qualified for the finals for the eighth straight time.

In the recently concluded game at the Dambulla Stadium in Sri Lanka, India, bowling first, restricted Bangladesh to just 80 runs after 20 overs. In reply, Indian women registered a thumping 10-wicket win with nine overs in hand to reach the finals.

In the post-match interview, Harmanpreet Kaur was asked about whom would she want to face in the finals (Pakistan or Sri Lanka), to which her reply delighted the fans. Kaur emitted confidence and remarked 'Any team works'.

"[Pakistan or Sri Lanka?] Any team works, we will watch tonight and whoever is there, we'll prepare well,"she said.

"Our bowlers did a great job. Did what we spoke about in the team meetings. Proud of our bowling. A lot of pressure on us, because we have been dominating Asian cricket. We want to keep doing what we are doing for a long time. We prepare ourselves very hard in nets so that when we go out there, we don't feel pressure. Every day, the bowlers are coming up with a positive approach. They are hitting the right lines and lengths, and they give me confidence. Consistency is important for us, we just want to keep doing well," she said at the post-match presentation.

Renuka Singh and Radha Yadav were the stars with the ball and took three-wickets each. Eventually, Renuka won the player of the match award for providing the early damage.
