According to the latest reports, India will likely persist with Washington Sundar in their playing XI for the second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Since making his Test comeback, Sundar has been prolific with the ball for the Indian team. 

The off-spinner, who bagged eleven wickets in two home Tests versus New Zealand, showcased his all-round attributes in the Perth Test and the recently held warm-up fixture against Australia Prime Minister's XI. 

Sundar To Be Preferred Over Ashwin And Jadeja In Adelaide

So, considering Washington Sundar's recent exploits with bat and ball, the Indian think tank will likely keep him in the playing XI for the Adelaide Test. Speaking to TOI, a reliable BCCI source reckoned that there's a huge possibility of Sundar pipping the legendary duo of Ashwin and Jadeja for the spinner's role in Adelaide. He said, 

"There's a 90% chance that Sundar will play in the second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval."

Sundar was impressive in whatever opportunity he got with bat and ball in Perth. Apart from bowling tight spells and scalping two key wickets in the second innings, the experienced cricketer struck a crucial 29-run cameo, helping India post a massive score.

Considering Rohit Sharma makes a straight entry into the Indian lineup, the visitors might make several modifications to their playing XI for the sake of team balance. While Devdutt Padikkal is all set to make room for Shubman Gill, skipper Rohit, for a change, could take up Dhruv Jurel's number six position.
