No 1 Batter Suryakumar Dominates; Babar Azam Surges To No 4 In Latest T20I Rankings

Suryakumar Yadav is celebrated as India's premier T20 player, known for his exceptional 360 degree batting skills in the shorter format. He currently holds the top spot in T20 rankings after he dethroned Pakistan captain Babar Azam last year.

Babar Azam was recently appointed as the captain of Pakistan's T20I team following Shaheen Afridi's removal from captaincy after the 4-1 series loss to New Zealand in New Zealand. 

Leading the Pakistani side in the recent home series against New Zealand ahead of T20 World Cup, Babar Azam took his team to a 2-2 draw after initially trailing 1-2.

In this series, Babar Azam showcased his supreme talent with the bat, scoring 125 runs in four innings. As a result of his stellar performance, he climbed to the 4th position in the ICC T20I rankings from his previous 5th position, with 763 points.

SKY holds his number 1 spot

Babar Azam's  jump in the rankings poses a challenge to Suryakumar Yadav, who currently sits at the top with 861 points.

English batter Phil Salt, enjoying a remarkable season with KKR in IPL 2024, currently holds the second position in the rankings, closely trailing Suryakumar with 802 points. 

Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter, Mohammad Rizwan, is at the third spot with 784 points.

As the T20 World Cup 2024 approaches in June, Babar Azam eyes Suryakumar Yadav's top spot, while Suryakumar Yadav is determined to maintain his rank and take India to T20 World Cup victory after 17 years.
