In a significant development, Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced a 15-man robust squad for the men's team's upcoming One-Day International series against England on home soil. Led by Shai Hope, West Indies will face the Englishmen in three ODIs before taking them on in a five-match T20I series. 

Shimron Hetmyer Returns To ODI Setup, Pooran Misses Out

Shimron Hetmyer's ODI comeback is the most significant highlight of the squad. The explosive left-handed batter played his final 50-over game against England back in December last year. He replaces Alick Athanaze, marking the only change in their team from the recently concluded Sri Lanka series. 

In 53 ODIs, Hetmyer has slammed 1515 runs at an average of 32.23 and a blistering strike rate of 104.55. However, ace batter Nicholas Pooran doesn't find a place in the team. 

Hope To Lead; King, Lewis And Joseph Form The Windies Core

Among others, experienced batter Shai Hope will lead the team, which is also studded with impactful players like Brandon King, Roston Chase, Alzarri Joseph and Sherfane Rutherford. Evin Lewis, who recently hammered a belligerent hundred against Sri Lanka, is set to extend his stint with the national ODI side.
