My father just loved CSK: Hangargekar remembers his late father after getting roped in by Chennai

The member of the U19 World Cup-winning Indian team, Rajvardhan Hangargekar was roped in by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a sum of INR 1.5 Cr. Rajvardhan who played an important role in India's victorious triumph lost his father in 2020 due to Covid-19. 

While talking to The Indian Express, Hangrekar remembered his father and added that he loved CSK. 

“My father just loved CSK and used to follow them passionately. I wish he were alive to see this day,” Hangargekar told The Indian Express. “Wherever he is, he will certainly be happier than all of us. I really have no words,” he added.

He further added that more than anything else, he wants to focus on his cricket. 

“More than money, for me, playing is important. These things will come as long as I am performing. So, my only focus will be on doing well in my cricket,” Hangarekar said.

Hangrekar would now be a part of the team that certainly has one of the most successful captain in the world as the leader. Talking about Dhoni, he said that jhe is looking forwrad seek guidance from the former India skipper. 

“I will seek his guidance, and there is a lot to learn from him," Hangargekar said.

CWI guarantees availability of WI cricketers for IPL 2022

The Cricket West Indies (CWI) has assured that all the West Indies players will be available to take part in the IPL 2022. "The CWI has allocated a window for the tournament each year in their ICC FTP and also guaranteed this to the players in their retainer contracts, therefore West Indies players are fully available to participate in the IPL each year. The IPL 2022 is slated to be played in April and May," the board said in a statement on Monday (February 14).
