The Mumbai cricket team management had to intervene after the players of the team staying in a posh South Bombay hotel in Kurla complained of negligence with respect to the quality of food. The Mumbai players are staying with Kerala and Delhi teams at the hotel.
The other three teams in the six-team group E which is scheduled to play all its matches in Mumbai are staying at another hotel at Bandra-Kurla complex.
Armaan Malik, the Mumbai team manager, said that the quality of the food has improved and now the issue is resolved. He further said that this improvement would help all three teams' players. While another official said that even the Delhi team players had raised the issue regarding food.
The teams are currently observing the quarantine rules and the matches will begin from January 10 as the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the domestic T20 tournament, kicks off a COVID-19-marred domestic season of Indian cricket. Other venues for the tournament are Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Indore, and Vadodara with the knockout games being played at the revamped Motera in Ahmedabad.
