Before making their draft selections, Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators have decided to exchange their star players, Iftikhar Ahmed and Rilee Rossouw, in a massive trade ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024.

Iftikhar has played 58 matches in the PSL over the years, tallying 777 runs in 58 matches at a not-so-great strike rate of 120.28. In addition, the star all-rounder has also picked up 10 wickets, having an economy rate of 8.25.

On the other hand, Rossouw, the South African international batsman, is a star of the PSL. The 34-year-old has aggregated 1882 runs at a strike rate of 145.22, with an average of 34.22 over the years.

“I am delighted to become a Sultan. It is an honour for me to represent the people of Multan as their passion for this game is second to none. Multan Sultans have evolved into a strong team and their record in the last three seasons speak for itself. Now, it is my ambition to help them bag the prestigious HBL PSL trophy,” Iftikhar Ahmed said in a statement.

In the meantime, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Player Draft 2024 date has been set. On December 13, 2023, a Wednesday, the National Cricket Academy in Lahore will host the event, with the PSL 9 tentatively scheduled from February 8 to March 24.
