The Indian team cruised their way to becoming the champions of the Asia Cup 2023 and won their eighth Asia Cup title. Team India was dominant throughout the tournament and looked impressive.

In the finals, India defeated Sri Lanka with sheer dominance as Lanka were bowled out for just 50 runs, and Shubman Gill, along with Ishan Kishan, chased down the score for the team in just 6.1 overs.

Mohammed Siraj, who bowled a fiery spell in the final, is now the top-ranked bowler in the ICC rankings.

He has jumped eight spots in the rankings to become the number-one bowler in the ICC rankings. He overtook the likes of Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Trent Boult.

Siraj's magical spell of 6-21 helps him become the number one ODI bowler

In the Asia Cup 2023 final, Siraj was on a roll. He picked up four wickets in an over to dismantle the Sri Lankan batting line-up. Before the final, he was bowling well but managed to pick only four wickets in five games. But with a fiery spell in the final, Siraj registered his best ODI figures, picking up six wickets in a seven overs spell.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan are the other two bowlers whose rankings have been improved in the top ten as now they are fourth and fifth-ranked in ODIs, respectively. Also, Keshav Maharaj of South Africa jumped ten spots after his spell of 4-33 and is currently at the 15th spot in the ICC ODI rankings.
