Bangladesh pacer Mohammad Saifuddin who was ruled out of the ongoing T20 World Cup with a back injury is now set to miss the home fixtures against Pakistan as well.
According to Cricbuzz, the confirmation has come from Bangladesh Cricket Board chief physician Debashish Chowdhury. "He (Saifuddin) has a stress injury," said Debashish on Thursday (October 28).
“After a month's rest he will start his rehabilitation program,” he added.
Bangladesh are scheduled to host Pakistan for three T20Is and two Test matches which will be part of the second cycle of the World Test Championship. The three T20Is will be played on November 19, 20 and 22 in Dhaka.
The teams will then face off each other in the Test series. The first Test will be played in Chattogram from November 26 while the sides will be back at Shere Bangla National Stadium for the second and final match from December 4.
Saifuddin picked up five wickets in the four matches that he played in the World Cup for Bangladesh. He was replaced by Rubel Hossain.
