Mohammad Amir To Play Lanka T10 Super League As PCB Grants NOC To Pakistan Star

On December 9, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approved several No Objection Certificates (NOCs), allowing Pakistani cricketers to participate in international leagues. Among them, Mohammad Amir and Asif Ali will feature in the upcoming Lanka T10 Super League, set to take place in Sri Lanka from December 11 to December 19, 2024, in Pallekele.

Players Who Are Cleared For Lanka T10

Alongside Amir and Asif Ali, the PCB also granted NOCs to Umar Akmal and Imran Khan Sr. for the inaugural Lanka T10 tournament. This event marks Sri Lanka's first-ever T10 franchise league, which will feature six teams: Colombo Jaguars, Galle Marvels, Jaffna Titans, Nuwara Eliya Kings, Hambantota Bangla Tigers and Kandy Bolts.

Amir has signed with Jaffna Titans, while Asif Ali will play for Colombo Jaguars. The tournament will see 25 matches being played over eight days.

PCB also approved NOCs For Other Players in December

  • Faheem Ashraf for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) from December 30, 2024, to February 7, 2025.
  • Players like Khushdil Shah and Asif Afridi have been allowed to play in the Global Super League T20.

The Pakistan national team will simultaneously be on a tour of South Africa, starting December 10, 2024. This tour includes a T20I series, three ODIs, and two Test matches. However, none of the players given NOCs are part of the national squad for this series.

Mohammad Amir's Recent Performances

Mohammad Amir, a left-arm pacer, has been in demand across global leagues. After representing Men In Green in the T20 World Cup 2024, he played for franchises like Antigua and Barbuda Falcons (CPL) and New York Strikers (Abu Dhabi T10). His participation in the Lanka T10 is another step in his thriving franchise cricket career.
