Sri Lanka's pace sensation Nuwan Thushara has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against India due to a finger injury. Notably, the right-arm speedster was expected to lead the Lankan bowling attack alongside his partner in crime, Matheesha Pathirana, in the three-match series.

However, the 29-year-old broke a finger on his left hand during a training session. So, he will need a significant period of time to recover from the injury and hence won't participate in the India series.

Left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka has replaced Thushara in Sri Lanka's squad for India T20Is.

Thushara's absence is be a massive setback for Sri Lanka, as he can swing the new ball besides nailing yorkers in the death overs.

In the recently concluded Lanka Premier League, he scalped eight wickets in seven outings at a strike rate of 18.75.

He is the second Lankan player to be ruled out of the India T20Is, as Dushmantha Chameera has already been sidelined of the tour.
