England's wicketkeeper-batter, Jos Buttler is having a phenomenal Indian Premier League (IPL) outing with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) this season. His unbeaten knock of 106* (60) helped Rajasthan rocket past Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)'s target of 158 and booked a ticket for the finals against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday.
The Englishman scored 76 out of his 106 runs in boundaries with ten fours and six-towering 6s. After this innings, former England captain Michael Vaughan has dubbed Buttler the number one limited-overs cricketer in the world.
The 31-year-old has played 314 T20s scoring 8,159 runs with 6 centuries striking at 144.74. For England, Buttler has featured in 148 ODIs and 88 T20Is.
Vaughan's tweet, read, "The No 1 white ball player in the world (by a country mile btw) is at it again,"
The keeper-batsman registered his fourth hundred this season, equalling Virat Kohli's record of the most tons in a season. He has scored 824 runs averaging 58.86, which includes four half-centuries as well.
The swashbuckler also became the third player after Kohli and David Warner to record 800+ runs in a single season. Apart from this, Buttler now also has the record for hitting the most boundaries in a single edition.
He became the third player (45) after Chris Gayle and Andre Russell to smack 40+ sixes in a season.
The Somerset-born also has the most number of hundreds (5) for a wicketkeeper in the IPL, with his RR skipper Sanju Samson being joint second (3) with AB de Villiers.
Vaughan also took a jibe at the Ahmedabad track for being sporty and lively as opposed to the dust-bowl it offered when England toured India last year.
"Great to see some pace & bounce in the pitch in Ahmedabad !! Last time I watched I remember it resembling a beach ..", The Ashes-winning captain tweeted.
The Pink-Ball Test saw thirty wickets in the first two days of the match, with India winning the game on Day two by ten wickets.
