Mayank Agarwal Unravels Mystery Behind Hand On Rishabh Pant's Shoulder In Famous 2019 Selfie

On this very day, four years ago in 2019, a bunch of players from India's World Cup side uploaded a now-famous selfie that featured the likes of Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal. 

The photo went viral after fans and netizens noticed a hand over Pant's shoulder, which seemed out of place, as the wicketkeeper batter was stationed far right of others. The internet worked overtime to solve the mystery but failed. 

However, after four years, Agarwal has opted to reveal the secret behind the mysterious hand. Sharing the same picture on social media platform 'X', the out-of-favour batter stated it was his hand all along.

Here's what Agarwal revealed

"After years of extensive research, debates, and countless conspiracy theories, let the nation finally know : it is MY hand on @RishabhPant17 shoulder ‼️‼️  Ps : any and all other claims are misleading and not true 😎"

Shared by Agarwal, the post has already been viewed by over 50,000 accounts and continues to witness a lot of engagement on the platform. 

Interestingly, only two players from the photo, Pandya and Bumrah, will feature for India in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which starts next month. 

While Agarwal was dropped from India's white-and-red ball teams, others like former captain Dhoni took retirement post the event, and Pant is out of action following a near-fatal accident last December.
