Opening batsman Mayank Agarwal was added to the Indian team late on Wednesday night after news broke out that three players tested positive for Covid-19 along with net bowler Navdeep Saini and three support staff members.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed the development via a release and stated that Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shreyas Iyer were the three members from the main team to have tested positive.
It is not yet known whether the series will be postponed or not, but if there are more positive cases in either of the camps, the organiser might be forced to tweak the schedule.
As it stands, there will be no crowd in Ahmedabad for the first three ODIs but Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host 75 per cent capacity.
