The Rajasthan Royals (RR) introduced the Pink Promise initiative, with all players donning pink to show support for rural Rajasthani women leading societal change.

Ahead of the toss, a Rajasthan-based woman participated and be with Faf du Plessis and Sanju Samson in the pitch, symbolizing their empowerment.

After Sanjay Manjrekar highlighted the significance of the day, he inappropriately remarked,  "Now back to serious business".

RR initiative to amplify their support to women empowerment

Rajasthan began the season flawlessly, leading the table alongside KKR without any losses. Facing RCB at their home ground in Jaipur, the Royals introduced an initiative aimed at empowering women.

RR aimed to demonstrate solidarity with the women catalyzing societal transformation. RR also announced that they will dedicate a portion of every 100 rupees spent on tickets for this match to support women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan.

Furthermore, for every six hit during the match by both teams, Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Rajasthan Foundation pledged to illuminate six homes in the Sambhar region with solar power. It's a commendable initiative by RR management, setting an example.

Watch: Sanjay Manjrekar's inapt response

Sanjay Manjrekar's inappropriate response marred the moment which was supposed to be special.

It was this same Sanjay who asked Wankhede crowd to 'behave', when Hardik was booed couple of days back.

Sanjay's remark to "now get back to serious business" implies that RR's support for women's initiatives is not taken seriously.

While it could be seen as a slip-up, many feel Sanjay should have treated the matter seriously. Netizens have been vocal about this issue, sharing their thoughts and concerns.
