As part of their blueprint for IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have roped in former India wicketkeeper and erstwhile BCCI Chairman of the Selection Committee, MSK Prasad as their Strategic Consultant. The announcement was made through a statement on LSG’s Twitter handle.

LSG brings MSK Prasad on board as 'Strategic Consultant'

Known for his leadership as chief selector during India’s memorable Test series victories in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21, Prasad will spearhead the Talent Search and Development wing for the LSG. His involvement promises to be a game-changer as the franchise readies its arsenal for IPL 2024.

Prasad’s appointment aligns with LSG’s recent recruitment of former Australian coach, Justin Langer as the head coach succeeding Andy Flower.

Interestingly, during India's marquee Test series wins, it was Langer who stood at the opposing helm coaching the Australian brigade but this time around, the duo will work in tandem for the same team.

“Prasad brings with him a wealth of experience and a stellar track record in cricket operations, coupled with a passion that has driven him to remarkable achievements in both national and international arenas. His journey is marked by a range of accomplishments that spans from representing the Indian National Cricket Team to steering the operations of prominent cricket associations; all of which will bring valuable insights and experience to our organization."

Apart from his celebrated tenure with the BCCI, Prasad has also been instrumental as the Director of Cricket Operations at the Andhra Cricket Association. There, he pioneered the establishment of state-of-the-art coaching facilities across the Andhra region's 13 districts.

With six Tests and 17 ODIs from 1999 to 2001 and a commendable record of over 4,000 runs in 96 first-class matches, his addition certainly enhanced LSG’s strategic framework ahead of IPL 2024.
