The third Test between India and Australia is proving to be a tough nut to crack for the visting Indian team as they are struggling big time with the bat, after Australia posted a massive score on the board.

Things are getting even more difficult for the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who has looked clueless with the bat throughout the series. On Day 4, the onus was on him and KL Rahul to take India out of deep water, but Rohit failed to show resistance and application in the middle and Pat Cummins got the better of him in the first hour of play.

Rohit's Dismal Test Form Continues

The Indian skipper could score just 10 off 27 balls, and ended up nicking a delivery, around off to wicketkeeper Alex Carey. The dismissal has again triggered calls of retirement from fans from Test cricket as Rohit has not been able to get a decent score in the longest format since the New Zealand series. He has scored 19 runs in three innings of BGT 2024-25 so far and has looked far from being one of India's most experienced batter.

Some fans lashed out at Rohit for being a running wicket for Aussies while some expressed frustration and tiredness by seeing Rohit getting one failure after another. Many are calling for retirement and want a youngster to play in place of Rohit Sharma and there are also demands to make Jasprit Bumrah India's regular Test captain.

Rohit Sharma's dismissal reduced India to 74-5 in reply to Australia's massive total of 445. They now need KL Rahul to bat deep along with lower middle order and keep the scoreboard ticking to salvage a draw after rain has taken away quite a time from the game.

The series is levelled at 1-1 and Australia currently look favourite to take a lead in the series with dominating batting and bowling performance.
