Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will collide in match 43 of the IPL 2025 season on Friday, April 25. The match, set to be hosted by the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, also presents a unique opportunity to several competing cricketers for scaling significant landmarks and milestones.
Here is a look at some of the records and landmark figures that can be achieved in the CSK vs SRH game in Chennai.
400 Matches In T20 Cricket
MS Dhoni, who started his T20 journey with an international match back in December 2006 against South Africa in Johannesburg, is set to play the 400th match of his career through his upcoming appearance against SRH. Of the 399 T20 matches he has played so far, Dhoni played 98 internationals for Team India between the years 2006 and 2019. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter has spent a major chunk of his T20 career playing IPL and CLT20 cricket. With a combined tally of 296 T20 caps across both competitions, he played 272 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) alone, including 242 for the CSK.
50 Stumpings In IPL
MS Dhoni is also on the verge of completing 50 stumpings in the IPL. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter has so far affected 46 stumpings in 272 matches. While he is already leading the race in terms of players with most stumpings in IPL history, adding four more to his tally will make him the first cricketer in the tournament to scale 50 stumpings. Dhoni has also claimed 151 catches as a wicketkeeper to hold an overall dismissal collection of 197, also the highest among all keepers in IPL.
50 Sixes In IPL
CSK all-rounder Vijay Shankar has launched 48 sixes in his IPL career since making his debut back in 2014. A veteran of 78 IPL games, the right-handed middle-order batter needs just two more sixes to complete 50 maximums in the tournament. Shankar bludgeoned 15 of those sixes during the IPL 2023 season, and belted 23 sixes across IPL 2018 and IPL 2019 seasons combined.
50 Sixes In IPL
SRH’s firebrand Australia-based opening batter Travis Head is also at the brink of completing 50 sixes in his IPL career. Making his debut in 2016 for the RCB, the left-hander made sporadic appearances in the IPL until settling himself with the SRH for the 2024 edition of the tournament. In 33 innings, Travis Head has launched 49 sixes so far, including 41 of them for the ‘Orange Army’ since last year.
