Kolkata Knight Riders unveil new jersey ahead of IPL 2022

The two-time IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders have officially revealed their new jersey ahead of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League.

With just over a week left for the cash-rich tournament to begin, KKR becomes the sixth franchise to reveal their jersey for the season.

Shreyas Iyer, the new KKR skipper unveiled the jersey alongside Venky Mysore, CEO and Managing Director of Kolkata Knight Riders.

The franchise dropped their brand new kit through an event shown live on their social media handles, where Shreyas Iyer was seen donning the new purple and gold jersey. 

The former champions have kept their purple and gold combination but with a different look. The jersey has a lot more gold palette and also displays a brand new sponsor.

“I love the gold in the logo. It simply stands out,” says Shreyas Iyer.

KKR kick-started their new era, with Iyer taking charge of captaincy. The team from Kolkata have splashed INR 12.25 crore on Iyer and will be hoping that the decision pays off as they look to capture their third IPL title. The franchise retained Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy and Venkatesh Iyer ahead of the season.

The 15th season of the Indian Premier League commences from March 26. Kolkata Knight Riders will start their campaign against the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings in a mouth-watering contest.
