Fresh from his Asia Cup 2025 heroics, Tilak Varma counterattacked the Australian A bowlers to steer India A to a competitive 246 in 45.5 overs. Riyan Parag also cracked a speedy half-century to chip in for the hosts.
Jasprit Bumrah becomes Ralph Lauren ambassador
American fashion and lifestyle brand Ralph Lauren has roped in legendary Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah as their Indian brand ambassador for their new range, Polo 67. Starting a new chapter in his career, Bumrah expressed his excitement over this unexpected collaboration, claiming that it is his “honour” to be associated with the brand. The ace Indian paceman is currently at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as part of the Indian team for the ongoing two-match Test series against the visiting West Indies group.
Abdur Razzak becomes BCB director after Iqbal’s withdrawal
Former Bangladesh cricketer Abdur Razzak has been elected as one of the directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), joining the team of prominent singer Asif Akbar and four other individuals. They were elected unopposed after former Bangladesh captain and legendary opening batter Tamim Iqbal among others withdrew their names, thus opting themselves out of the planned BCB elections. The elections were scheduled to be organised on October 6 later this week.
Aged 43, Abdur Razzak played 13 Tests, 153 ODIs and 34 T20I matches for Bangladesh during his playing days between the years 2004 and 2018.
SA record one of lowest ODI totals, gets blown away by England
South Africa Women dusted out for just 69 in 20.4 overs by England bowlers in match number four of the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in Guwahati. South Africa’s dismal batting effort marked their third lowest total ever in Women’s ODI history. For England, Linsey Smith unfurled the spell of the game with figures of 3-7, while her teammates Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean chipped in with two wickets each. Chasing just 70 to start off their tournament campaign with a win, England shrugged off their runs in just 14.1 overs with all 10 wickets intact in the game.
