Former Indian spinner, Amit Mishra spoke about doubt around KL Rahul's captaincy for the next season at Lucknow Super Giants after failing to get through the eliminators twice and failing to qualify for the playoffs in the 2024 season.

Leg spinner, Amit Mishra who made his Indian Premier League (IPL) return after a 3-year gap under KL Rahul in 2023 made a bold statement regarding the captaincy of Rahul beyond the 2024 season,

In a podcast where Mishra recently appeared, on being asked whether KL Rahul will captain LSG next season, he said 

"The franchise [LSG] will for sure look for better captaincy options for the next season," Mishra said.

Rahul has captained LSG since the time the team came into existence in 2022 alongside Gujarat Titans (GT) have so far made it to the playoffs of their first two seasons where they were knocked out by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) respectively. In 2024, they finished with 14 points at 7, getting eliminated due to net run rate.

The Delhi leggie who has had an illustrious IPL career where he has scalped 174 wickets in 162 matches has represented the franchise on 8 occasions in two seasons and took 7 wickets.
