India’s stand-in captain for the second Test against South Africa, KL Rahul has been in some good form on the tour and the right-hander has moved up in the ICC Test Rankings for batters. Rahul is presently sitting at number 31 and has moved up by 18 spots.
Rahul’s opening partner Mayank Agarwal has also gained one spot and is now ranked 11 in the rankings.
In the bowlers’ tally, India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has entered the top 10 and is now at 9 in the rankings while South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada has moved up one position and is now placed at number 6.
India and South Africa are presently locking horns in a three-match Test series. India are leading the series 1-0 while South Africa need to chase a target of 240 in the second match to make it 1-1.
The visitors are without the services of Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja on the tour due to their respective injuries while regular Test skipper Virat Kohli missed the second encounter die to a back spasm.
