Former Mumbai pacer Rajesh Verma passes away at 40 


In a tragic development, former Mumbai pacer and Ranji Trophy winner Rajesh Verma passed away Sunday morning. He left his heavenly abode on Sunday following a massive heart attack. The news of his demise was confirmed by his fellow Mumbai teammate, Bhavin Thakkar.


“He (Verma) was a sweet person, a very close friend of mine. He came from a very humble background. He was a very talented pacer. In today’s time, he would’ve done well in the IPL. He should have achieved much more than he did,” cited Thakkar. 


Lahore Qalandars’ boss compares Umran Malik with Pakistan’s sensation Haris Rauf


Sameen Rana, Owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars, has compared the youngster with Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf. 


Rana stated that Haris and Umran both had similar stories. Both started from white-ball cricket, are from Jammu and Kashmir and had no background in first-class cricket.


“If you look at Malik’s story, you will see that it has been a Haris Rauf inspired story. Maybe they had followed Haris’ story and must have thought - if it can happen in Pakistan, then why not in India,” Rana claimed.

Kuldeep Yadav’s resurgence has been one of the stories of the 15th season of the IPL. The chinaman spinner recently opened up about his experience with DC in the latest episode of the podcast hosted by the franchise.


“When you are given the freedom to express yourself, then you start to enjoy everything. When I spoke to Ricky during my first practice session with the team, he told me that he’s looking to play me for all 14 league matches,” Yadav mentioned.

After a marvellous end of the third round, all the teams from both Divisions will look to rest for a couple of days before they field their best XIs for Round 4, starting from Thursday (April 28).
