The anticipated IPL 2024 clash between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 17 could be rescheduled due to logistical challenges faced by the BCCI.

The match coincides with Ram Navmi and General Election and the BCCI has a tough task to provide adequate security for the blockbuster clash. The board has already informed all the stake-holders, the two teams and the broadcasters about the situation, and are in constant touch with the Kolkata Police to assess the security situation in the city.

As per reports, BCCI are also contemplating about relocating the match to a different city on the same date (April 17). A final decision is yet to be taken by the board members.

Talking about the two teams, both have had a strong start, being unbeaten in the league so far. While RR have thrashed LSG and DC in their opening two contests, KKR have looked solid in their wins against the SRH side and a strong RCB team in their own backyard.

RR will next face Mumbai Indians on April 1 at the Wankhede Stadium. Meanwhile, KKR will take on the Delhi Capitals on April 3.
