Dinesh Karthik will be RCB's batting coach in IPL 2025 [X]

In a significant development, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have appointed former cricketer Dinesh Karthik as their batting coach and team mentor for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The IPL franchise made the announcement via its official handle on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) with a post that read, 

"Welcome our keeper in every sense, 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗸, back into RCB in an all new avatar. DK will be the 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 of RCB Men’s team! You can take the man out of cricket but not cricket out of the man! 🙌 Shower him with all the love, 12th Man Army."

Dinesh Karthik's RCB career at a glance

A hard-hitting lower middle-order batter, Karthik is known for his ability to score all around the park. After leading Kolkata Knight Riders, the keeper-batter joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru prior to the IPL 2022. 

Karthik, who has represented six teams in his IPL career, has amassed 937 runs, including three fifties for RCB in 53 innings at a blistering strike rate of 162.96. 

He recently enjoyed stellar success in the IPL 2024, scoring 326 runs at an average of 36.22 and a strike rate of 187.36. However, considering we have the mega auction coming, Karthik hung up his boots from the IPL.
