In a shocking movement, Jasprit Bumrah could join Gujarat Titans ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 29-year-old, who has been the talk of the town since Tuesday morning due to a cryptic Instagram story, is set to move to IPL 2022 champions, as confirmed by the Gujarat Titans insiders.
After making his IPL debut in 2013, Bumrah has been honing only one jersey, that of Mumbai Indians. Over the years under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the right-arm quick gradually developed before becoming one of India’s talismanic fast bowlers of all time. Thus far, he has taken 145 wickets in 120 matches with an economy rate of 7.39.
Considering Bumrah was born in Ahmedabad, this could be a major move for the Titans, who recently sold Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians for an all-cash deal.
It has been reported since Tuesday morning that Bumrah unfollowed Mumbai Indians on Instagram, possibly due to Hardik being selected as Rohit Sharma's successor for the five-time champions. The fast bowler made his T20I captaincy debut in Ireland a few months ago, and there, he did well for the Men in Blue.
