Twitter went gaga over former West Indies Test skipper Jason Holder’s magnificent feat of picking four wickets in four balls against England to win the fifth, final and series-deciding T20I for his team at Kensington Oval in Barbados, his home ground.
Holder dismissed Chris Jordan, Sam Billings, Adil Rashid and Saqib Mahood in four consecutive balls after bowling a no-ball on the first ball of the last over of the English innings, defending 20 runs.
Thanks to this feat of his, Holder is now being billed as one of the biggest buoys in the upcoming IPL Mega Auctions to be held on February 12 and 13 at Bengaluru.
People are now counting all his skills as a player. Not only is Holder a great bowler with all of the stock balls and variations in his armoury, but the biggest weapon is the extra bounce that he generates with height.
The 30-year-old, who has so far played 26 games in five seasons since making his IPL debut in 2013, hasn’t really blossomed with the bat, but with the ball, he showed how lethal he can be when he picked 16 wickets in just eight games at an average of 15.43 last season.
The Bajan man is also being considered as captaincy material and hence teams like Punjab Kings, his previous sidesSunrisrers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders might be interested in getting him at all costs.
