The ultra-fast overseas bowler Kagiso Rabada, who is currently the part of Punjab Kings (PBKS) franchise leapfrogged the South African legend Dale Steyn to become the leading wicket-taker among the Proteas bowlers in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Ahead of Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday, May 16 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai, Rabada had 97 wickets to his name in the cash-rich league, equivalent to the legendary Proteas pacer Dale Steyn.
The 26-year-old surpassed Steyn after he got the big fish of Delhi Capitals, Mitchell Marsh, who scored a brilliant 48-ball 63, laced with four fours and three sixes to reach the 98 wicket tally.
The South African fast bowling legend Dale Steyn played 95 games in the Indian Premier League and picked up 97 wickets at an economy of 6.91 and an average of 25.9. His junior mate, however, surpassed him and bagged 98 wickets in just 62 IPL games at an average of 19.67 and an economy of 8.24.
