The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 juggernaut rolls on as the 15th game of the cash-rich league sees Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) locking horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.
Delhi will be looking to bounce back from the rather disappointing display with the bat against Gujarat Titans. At the same time, Lucknow will hope to continue their winning momentum in the tournament.
Delhi Capitals were off to a terrific start to IPL 2022 season as they pummeled the five-time champions Mumbai Indians by four wickets in their opening game.
However, they failed to carry on the winning momentum as they suffered a 14-run defeat at the hands of new-entrants Gujarat Titans in their second game at Pune. They are currently sitting at the seventh spot on the points table with one win in two matches.
The Rishabh Pant-led side has several impactful players in their ranks, and hence they have a good chance of making a comeback with a comprehensive victory against KL Rahul & Co.
On the other hand, the Super Giants, after getting thumped by Gujarat in their opening game, bounced back and clinched two back to back wins against Chennai Super Kings and SunRisers Hyderabad, respectively.
They are coming off a 12-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Avesh Khan, the most expensive pacer of IPL 2022, stepped up on occasion and picked four big wickets while conceding only 24 runs. Moreover, he bowled a fantastic 18th over to turn the match in LSG's favour.
Krunal Pandya also got two crucial wickets in the middle overs. KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda smashed the fifties to help his side post a respectable total on the scoreboard. The only concern for Lucknow Super Giants is the form of their top order batter, Manish Pandey.
Although both teams look very evenly matched on paper, the Super Giants have the edge, given their recent all-around performance against SRH.
Match: Lucknow Super Giants vs Delhi Capitals, Match 15
Venue: Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai
Date & Time: 7th April at 7:30 PM IST & Local Time
Live Streaming: Star Sports Network and Disney+Hotstar
The pitch at DY Patil is expected to help batters again. The little grass over it will assist the pacer in the initial overs. We have already seen three high-scoring games at this venue. The chasing team has won the first two games at the venue, while the recent two were dominated by the side batting first. Anything around 180 will be at par at this venue. Since the dew will be in the second half of the game, both teams will look to bowl first after winning the toss.
