The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 juggernaut rolls on as the 25th game of the lucrative tournament sees Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) squaring off against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium on April 15.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, after losing their first two opening games, bounced back strongly and recorded two consecutive wins to climb up in the points table. With 4 points in their kitty and a net run rate of -0.501, they are placed at the eighth spot on the points table. They would be eager to make it a hat-trick of wins against Kolkata on Friday.
In the last clash, Hyderabad handed Gujarat Titans their first-ever setback of the tournament as the Men in Orange outsmarted them to eke out an 8 wicket victory. With Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma finding some form with the bat, the Sunrisers will be looking to keep their winning streak going.
Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, suffered a tough loss at the hands of Delhi Capitals in their previous match, with KKR's middle order and lower middle order failing to score runs.
So far, the two-time champions have won three games out of the five they played and currently find themselves at the second spot of the points table with 6 points in their account. However, their bowling attack also failed in the last game, with KKR conceding more than 200 runs and they would be looking to keep the disappointments of the previous match behind and do well in the next game.
Although both teams look evenly matched on paper, the Kolkata Knight Riders will fancy their chances, given their better bowling line-up. However, one can't take the 2016 champions for granted, especially when their top order and middle order have started firing with the bat. With both teams looking for a victory, we are in for another cracking clash in IPL 2022.
