The league leaders Gujarat Titans (GT) would look to fix a berth in the playoffs by returning to winning ways when they take on an already-eliminated side, Mumbai Indians (MI), in the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Friday at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. 

After bagging four wins in a row, the table toppers, Gujarat Titans, suffered their second defeat of the tournament in their most recent outing against the Punjab Kings. Gujarat bowlers failed to defend a total of 143 runs as PBKS batters chased down the score with four overs to spare. 

Except for opener Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan, all of their batters contributed in bits and pieces as Gujarat could post just 143 runs at the end of the 20 overs. Heading into their next game, they'll expect better performances from their top order. The spin wizard Rashid Khan too hasn't looked in great touch with the ball and needs to come up with better outings in the upcoming games. 

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, finally registered their maiden win of the season in the previous encounter against Rajasthan Royals. However, it's too late as they have already been eliminated from the tournament after enduring eight straight losses. The five-time champions, regardless, would want to put in a few more wins to their kitty before their campaign comes to an end in the ongoing season of the IPL.
