  • Ipl 2022 Deepak Chahar Sidelined For Four Months Likely To Miss T20 World Cup

IPL 2022 | Deepak Chahar sidelined for four months, likely to miss T20 World Cup

Deepak Chahar’s misfortunes do not seem to end as the pacer has reportedly been ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia

A few weeks ago, Chahar might have hoped to play a role in Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) journey in IPL 2022. However, his expected return after a quadriceps tear was cut short as he picked up a back injury at the NCA.

Chahar’s absence from CSK’s setup has weighed heavily on the franchise’s campaign in the ongoing IPL. CSK suffered four consecutive losses and only managed to open their account in their 5th match.

Riding on Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube’s brilliance, CSK notched up their first win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Chahar (bought for 14 crores) was supposed to spearhead CSK’s pace attack and be the chief-wrecker in the Powerplay overs. The current bowling lineup under Ravindra Jadeja’s captaincy has consistently failed to earn breakthroughs in the first six overs. Chahar’s swing bowling would have done a world of good for the four-time IPL champions.

With Chahar ruled out for at least four months, it will be a challenging task for him to return to the national side.
