Delhi Capitals (DC) will look to turn around their fortunes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 when they lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in the 19th match of the season at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Under their new captain Shreyas Iyer, Kolkata Knight Riders looked quite impressive this season, winning three out of their four games. As a result, they are currently ruling the points table with 6 points in their kitty.
Though their top order hasn't looked in great touch in the last three games, their middle order and bowlers made sure KKR crossed the finish line on all three occasions.
After winning the previous game against Mumbai Indians, they must be riding high on confidence. Pat Cummins smashed the fastest IPL half-century to chase down the target with 24 balls to spare and helped the two-time champions seal a game against the five-time champions by five wickets.
Ajinkya Rahane's form with the bat will be a matter of concern for two-time champions, and it will be intriguing to see if they will continue with him against DC.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, after beating Mumbai Indians in their opening game, lost two games on the trot against IPL newbies Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, respectively, leaving DC languishing at the bottom half of the points table.
They played their last game against KL Rahul-led LSG, which they lost by six wickets. They got a brilliant start as Prithvi Shaw smacked 61 runs off 34 balls, but the following batters failed to sustain the start as Lucknow restricted them to 149 for 3.
Mustafizur Rahman, Kuldeep Yadav, and Shardul Thakur looked good with the ball in the last game, while Anrich Nortje, who played his first match of the season for Delhi, failed to make an impact and will look to bounce back strongly against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Although the Knight Riders will fancy their chances heading into the game, Delhi Capital's bowling attack, which boasts of Anrich Nortje, Mustafizur Rahman and Kuldeep Yadav in their ranks, will be a challenging task for KKR's top order, which is yet to fire with the bat. Nevertheless, with all to play for on Sunday, we should be in for another thrilling contest in IPL 2022.

The pitch at Brabourne Stadium is a good one for batting. The fast bowlers will enjoy bowling in the initial overs of the game while the pitch could get a bit slower as the match progresses, bringing the spinners into play. We've seen a couple of high scoring games at this venue and the same trend is expected on Sunday. Both the captains will look to bowl first after winning the toss.
