IPL 2022 | Chennai Super Kings - Fantasy Tips

We will look to separate the players in the CSK squad into five groups, as per our analysis of who can be the most useful in the case of fantasy eleven teams.

Untamed: These are the strongest players of the squad, who would guarantee you some points on most of the days.

  • Ravindra Jadeja: Ravindra Jadeja is the highest impact and the most dynamic player of the CSK squad. He will deliver in most matches with either the bat or the ball. In T20 cricket, he gives 33 Fantasy points per game on average (keeping in mind the point system CE11). If you are looking for an apt Captain or vice-captain from the CSK squad, in most of the matches, he is your man for small leagues and head to head.

  • Ruturaj Gaikwad: After his orange cap-winning effort in the 2021 season, Gaikwad can be hailed as one of the most consistent donators of points. He scored 635 runs in the last season and will be the mainstay of the CSK batting this year. Ruturaj gives 31 fantasy points on average, but this year look out for bigger returns.

Shilly Shally: These are players whose inclusion involves risks. They can be in red hot form on one day and cold on the other.

  • Dwayne Bravo: He is at the end of his career. He will not give you the expected points, but if you keep your faith in him, he can give you big returns. He was a consistent performer, with an average of 35 fantasy points per game during his initial days. But he is at the end of his career, expecting significant returns from him every day.

  • Shivam Dube: Believed to be potentially an outstanding player, he has not been consistent enough to give you significant daily returns. But he is someone not everybody will select. So, there can be days when he clicks, and his big-hitting gives you unexpected returns. He has a general average of 27 fantasy points per game. But his bowling aspect is not too solid and inconsistent batting performances don’t bank on him every day.

Unhailed: These players will give you points most of the days but are generally ignored due to the big names.

  • Ambati Rayudu: Rayudu will give you a good chunk of points on any given day. If you are a minor league player, he is someone you need to have. But, for grand league players also he can be very useful. He will give you 25-30 points on most of the days.

  • Robin Uthappa: In the knockouts last year, he gave some really valuable points. He will be ignored mostly by fantasy players, especially towards the beginning of the tournament. During his time at KKR, his brilliant batting performances have got his average fantasy point per game stat to 33. But at present, he may not be giving you regular returns, but Uthappa can be your dark horse.

Stealthy Warriors: These are players who are not much known in the IPL circuit.

  • Devon Conway: With an average of 50 plus in T20Is, he is someone you should take a risk with in the first match. Put him as a captain of your team, and he can give you significant returns in the grand league as many won’t back him, given that he is still untested in the IPL.

  • Maheesh Theeksana: Theeksana with an average return of 23 fantasy points per game can give you valuable points eating up fewer credit points.

Imposters: These players will give you negative points or have no valuable contributions to your team on most days.

  • Chris Jordan: In IPL, Jordan has been conceding runs at the rate of 9.12 runs per over. Most days, he will be deducting valuable points from your team’s tally.

  • MS Dhoni: Sadly, the biggest match-winner is now a shadow of his peak time. MS in your team at this stage of his career will not add much value. Last year he scored 114 runs at a strike rate of 106; this shows that MS is just a shadow of his peak. Still, you can go with your guts and pick him as he can be the game-changer on certain days.
