India’s batting line-up has delivered a record-breaking performance in the 2025 Anderson Tendulkar Trophy against England, and it’s one for the history books. Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja have individually scored 400+ runs, a rare phenomenon witnessed in Indian cricket.
Team India might be trailing 1-2 to England in the 5-Test Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, but their performance, especially with the bat, has been nothing but exemplary and historic.
Gill, Pant, Rahul, And Jadeja Script Historic Milestone With Run Riot
For the first time ever in India’s Test cricket history, 4 Indian batters have each scored over 400 runs in a single Test series. This rare feat was achieved by India’s young generation, featuring captain Shubman Gill, opener KL Rahul, vice-captain Rishabh Pant, and veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Let’s start with the sensational Shubman Gill, who has been in the form of his life. He has piled up a massive 722 runs at an average of 90.25, making him the standout performer of the series. He has 4 centuries with a career high score of 269. Not only that, Gill’s latest hundred in Manchester helped India avoid a defeat and draw the game.
KL Rahul, returning as an opener in red-ball cricket, proved his worth with 511 runs at 63.87. His steady approach at the top under extreme pressure situations has saved India from multiple collapses. While he has scored 2 hundreds, he missed out on many milestones, yet his impactful partnership with Gill saved India in Manchester.
Rishabh Pant And Jadeja Silence Critics
Next up is the comeback man Rishabh Pant, who has thrilled fans with his trademark counterattacks. The explosive wicketkeeper-batter scored 479 runs at an average of 68.42. Despite getting his foot fractured in Manchester, he came out to bat and scored a half-century. Pant infamously slammed twin hundreds in Leeds.
But the biggest surprise of all is Ravindra Jadeja, the veteran all-rounder. Jadeja has scored 454 runs at a jaw-dropping average of 113.50. He has been India’s crisis man in the lower order. He first fought hard in a tedious chase at Lord’s and scored a hundred in Manchester while saving the game for India.
These fab four have given their absolute best with the bat in this challenging series. However, lapses in the field and with the ball have put India on the back foot.
