Warning: The Twitter video embedded contains obscene language
Five Indian cricketers, namely Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, and Navdeep Saini have been placed in isolation as an investigation has been launched to clarify whether they breached the bio-bubble protocols.
This has been done as a precautionary measure after a video of the five dining at a restaurant went viral on the internet on the new year. “The BCCI and CA are investigating the matter and seeking to determine whether the outing constitutes a breach of biosecurity protocols,” Cricket Australia said in the statement.
Earlier PTI had quoted a BCCI official on the conditions of anonymity that the players had not breached the protocol. The news could be a worrying sign heading into the third Test at the SCG beginning on 7th January.
