IND vs SL | "I am not worried at all about milestones," says Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli featured in his 100th Test match yesterday and fans were understandably expecting him to score his 71st International ton. However, the former Indian captain failed to end his two-year long century drought. After getting off to a very good start, Virat Kohli was looking very much settled for a hundred however, the left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya bowled a peach of a delivery to knock Kohli's off stump over for 45.

After the stumps of day 1 at Mohali, India stood in a commanding position at 357-6.

The  33-year old said that he is still "performing consistently".He mentioned: "I am preparing exactly the way I have prepared all along. As long as I am batting well, I am not bothered at all. People look at milestones and talk about a lot of things which are just a conversation on the outside, I know for a fact that I have been involved in very important partnerships for the team in the recent past."

After Virat Kohli and Hanuma Vihari's departure, Rishabh Pant counter attacked the Sri Lankan bowling attack and scored 96 of just 97 balls and he was well supported by Ravindra Jadeja who scored a valuable 45 not out to end day-1  in India's favour. India are 357-6 at the stumps of day one.
