The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCC) has confirmed that spinner Axar Patel has been added in the squad for the second Test against Sri Lanka which is slated to take place in Bengaluru from 12-16th March while Kuldeep Yadav has been released.
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Axar Patel to India’s squad for the second Paytm Test to be played from 12-16th March in Bengaluru. The all-rounder has completed his rehab and has been cleared by the BCCI Medical Team,” a BCCI statement said.
“Kuldeep Yadav has been released from the squad for the second Test,” it added.
India are presently leading the two-match series 1-0 after a thumping win by an innings and 222 runs. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who made a comeback to the side first scored an unbeaten 175 and then scalped nine wickets in the match during the course.
