The much-anticipated India’s all-format tour in South Africa will begin on Sunday (December 10) with a three-match T20I series. The Men in Blue, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, will be in action at Kingsmead, Durban, against Aiden Markram & Co., with stakes high ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Among South Africa’s prolific batting unit, David Miller has always stood out when it comes to playing against India. In the T20Is, the southpaw has a terrific record, having aggregated 297 runs across 13 innings while maintaining a strike rate of 168.75. He remained not out on five occasions, helping him to boast an impressive average of 37.12.
However, it is important to mention that Quinton de Kock, who only sits ahead of Miller among South African teammates, has a staggering record against India in T20Is. With 305 runs in just seven innings at an average of 61 and a strike rate of 141.86, de Kock leads the chart. Unfortunately, he won't be playing this series.
Among the all-time record from either side, India's all-format captain Rohit Sharma, having made 327 runs in 13 matches, tops the chart. While he is taking a rest at this moment, and won't be leading his force in the T20s, Miller has a good chance to topple him. All the South African middle-order needs to score is 31 more runs to claim the throne.
