I made a narrow escape at MI, says Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal, in a conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin and Karun Nair, revealed a story from his Mumbai Indians (MI) days. He spoke about an incident when a 'drunk cricketer' hung him from the 15th floor.

In a conversation with his teammates, Chahal, who is now associated with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise in IPL 2022, recalled an incident during his time with Mumbai.

The Indian cricketer said, "I never told this story; from today, everyone will know. I never shared this. This dates back to 2013 when I was with Mumbai Indians, and we had a match in Bangalore. There was a get-together after that. So, there was a very drunk player. I won't say his name. He was very drunk, he was looking at me for a long time, and he just called me, and he took me outside, and he hung me on the balcony."

The leg-spinner further shared that untasteful incident from 2013, where some of his teammates saved Chahal from any mishappening.

"My hands were around him, like this (behind the neck). Had I lost my grip, I was on the 15th floor. Suddenly many people who were there came, and they handled it. I kind of fainted. They gave me water. This was one incident where I felt I made a narrow escape."

While the fans have started guessing the name already on social media, Chahal did not reveal the cricketer's name in the video. He began his IPL journey with MI and became an integral part of Royal Challengers Bangalore before being purchased by the RR in the mega auction ahead of the IPL 2022.

With seven wickets in three matches, he is placed second on the list of Purple Cap (highest wicket-takers) of the tournament.

On the other hand, after starting the campaign decently and winning two out of three matches so far, the Royals are placed third on the Points Table. Their Net Run Rate is also favourable, and they are gearing up for their next game in the IPL 2022 on April 10 in Mumbai.
